There's a PS3 redesign coming. Smaller, cheaper (base option with 16GB flash and no hard drive, or 250GB / 500GB hard drives), top loading optical drive (really? eek ) , and an, umm, unique ( ??!!? eek ) looking new smaller case. Apparently it will start out at around $150-179 for the 16GB version.

Not sure about the look and the top loading drive, with the way the games take space for installs etc. nobody is really going to want the 16GB version. I'll keep on with my fat PS3 and 640GB drive thanks.

Shame they can't even (Photoshop) put the label on straight. wink

I'll believe it when I see it, I can't imagine, why they would make a cheap one without a HD given the push towards downloading media instead of buying discs, or why they would put the time, effort and expense into a redesign for the sake of the ability to sell a machine for, roughly what they cost now, just at the end of it's lifecycle.

+1 but why would someone photoshop and fabricate this pointless story.

Lord only knows, in not a huge gamer geek (ok a little bit) but I can't think of another hobby/interest that's so full of wild Internet rumour and bullst seemingly dreamt up for the sake of a tiny bit of attention (this is not something I'm accusing the OP of, of course).

You only have to have a quick google of rumours for previous big game or machine releases to see what BS has gone before... I mean if nothing else, why in the age of the 5 megapixel phone camera are the pics so grainy and horrible.

This could be 100% on the money, but I take anything I read online about games or machines with a mine full of salt.
