Webasto / Eberspacher in a 90?
Discussion
Thinking about a diesel cabin heater for my 90. I've seen these fitted in a few 110's, usually under the middle row of seats. Has anyone on here fitted one to a 90? if so, where did you put it?
I've got 3 seats in the front so can't put it in a cubby box. It could go behind the front seats but I've got a bulkhead removal bar and want the heater hidden away. I've been wondering about trying to have it tucked away in one of the rear wheel arch boxes. Or in the engine bay?
Cheers

It depends which heater you go for... You might want to look at the Webasto instead of the Eberspacher as you can mount that in the engine bay.
The Webasto units sit on the cooling system and have the options to run a circulation pump. The unit will circulate and heat up the coolant which means that you just use the normal heater to warm the cabin.
All of this can be done on a remote starter, about the same sort of size as an alarm fob.

Definitely an air heater I'm after, rather than a block heater.
But I can't really see any reason why it couldn't be mounted engine-side of the bulkhead with controls and hot-air pipe through the bulkhead to the cabin?
I haven't actually looked but I assume the fuel tank is below the rear tub? Driver seat box full of fuse box and ecu, passenger seat box full of battery...

Nowt wrong with the Webasto approach, personally I prefer it and have them on 2x of my cars. Not only does it warm the cabin but:

- It warms the engine, making it easier to start.
- It's what LR fit.

I have an eberspacher in my 90 ...it sits in the load bay next to the bulkhead with a 90 deg nozzle to blow directly into the rear cabin.
It uses the BT timer which limits the time to 60 min so as not to kill the battery but this can easily be over ridden.
The fuel tank was fitted with an additional pickup pipe.
Reason it was fitted in the load area was for easy access and not to be covered in mud / clag.
It is toasty in winter even with a soft top fitted.
