My previous car was a renault clio V6 which i owned for 4 years (it was my first car)I currently have a vx220 turbo (stage 3) which i absolutly love but my ultimate car to own, hopefully sooner rather then later is a TVR Tamora/T350,Just not sure how they drive & if im to young re:If the drive of the car suits me.

I have never sat in a TVR but would love the chance of been a passenger to see what impression it gives as a comparison with my VX220T, HINT HINT any York owners willing to take me for a drive in theres :-) Pretty please smile

To be honest, if you have had a Clio V6 with RWD, these will feel safe! ;-)

May be putting my T350 up for sale and you are welcome to have a look and drive.

Hi

I am 24 as well, recently purchased my Tamora in May. All I can say is go for it!!

Get lots of quotes from insurance companies, as they will be asking ridiculous money for cover, I ended up with Admiral for around £600. but that was the only one less than £1000, and the dearest one went over £6k!!

There's no other buzz quite like it!! bounce

How will it? confused

I have run lots of no ABS and it's only an issue if you have no clue.

PH standards are slipping no one asked for a custard shot yet?

24 and a TVR if you can afford it and the insurance go right ahead, just dont be too rash with it and it should be a hoot.

Sorry I had no idea you 2 are driving gods!

It will be his first car with no abs, all I'm saying is be careful

It's caught me out 6 months after having the car

I am not a driving god. You said "it WILL" as if it was a certainty all I am saying is it doesn't need to! I absolutely agree, 'be careful'.

Have you ever locked the wheels up on your TVR?

I was 25 when I got my t350 after a Clio 182 and Golf R32 and i recon say go for it! Just take your time in the wet and all will be good esp with your experience with rwd cars..

Only thing I will say is don't go in blind to the potential running/serving costs I was probably a bit unlucky but my first year of ownership was financially ruinous! smile

YHM (to dad's account). I went through the same thought process as you at the age of 22 (just turned 21 when I bought my Cerbera). As long as you treat the car with the respect it deserves, especially in the wet, then you'll be fine. I'm fairly local to you, so you're more than welcome to have a ride out in mine if it helps.

I was 26 when I bought my T350t and I did not drive a Clio V6 before. Did 7000 miles now; my wheels briefly locked once in the wet but that was not much of an issue. I guess it is more about having a bit of sense with the car but don't let age hold you back. You will love it.

Then (without trying to sound like a Keyboard Racer) you really haven't been pushing the car.

I don't drive like a Dick, but within a few months of owning the car I had both locked the fronts & had it slightly sideways - with no harm to me or the car, but I learnt where the limits were and how to drive it with respect.

I'm no driving god, but the car is reasonably progressive once you understand where the limit points are and learn to drive it.
