Nice place to eat near St Ives

Peppers in the middle of town is lovely, nice little place. Make sure you book.

There's is a good 'ol fashion truck stop nearby on the A30. Decent Greasy Brekky. I'll try and look it up.

We were staying in a campsite near Hayle last year and I got tired of cooking brekky for the kids so ventured along the A30 in search of grub.

I hear the restaurant in The Sloop pub on the harbour in St Ives is very good. It's called The Captains Table.

Portmeor Cafe. It has a great view of the beach and sea and they have outside heated booths. Food is lovely. Make sure you book though.

Or this place. Again you better book. Food is lovely, and another great beach view with outside seating.

Macks Fish and Chips in Redruth is fantastic too, by far my favourite chip shop in the county. Bit of a trek from St Ives.

We have friends in St Ives and we've eaten in most places.

We rate this place http://www.porthgwiddencafe.co.uk/ as the towns best - better than the Porthminster(better value, too)

St Andrews Bistro in middle of St Ives, 5 mins walk from parking at Train Station is lovely.

Would agree with most of the above. Blas Burgerworks in the middle of town is also great too.

Just come back from here and went to a few places

The Waterwheel in Lelant is very very nice and they can actually cook a steak properly

Pizza Patio in Hayle http://www.eatoutcornwall.com/restaurants/hayle/pi... is quite good but if you want to have an Italian in St Ives then maybe try http://www.peppers-stives.co.uk/ Went here last year and it was busy everytime we went so must be doing something right

We didn't go but I heard'A Bucket Of Blood' in Hayle we heard good things about. (interesting story behind the name)

If you go you simply must try a Philps pasty!!!!

Just whatever you do dont end up at the Brewers Fayre in Hayle. Why oh why did I go here? (it was crap)

Hi Tony, bit of a rush to get down there after my Italian trip so couldnt make it to you rest assured I will visit soon, I will move down your way sometime soon, just taking a lot longer than I had hoped.

Thanks for the recommendation We had a good meal there.

Couple of points worth noting if anyone else decides to go there, it was overrun with kids, on the night we went we left the kids at the static caravan site with the mother in law. As such spoiled it a little but to be fair it was school holidays. The food was excellent in some places, Squid starter, Hake main course exceptional and reasonably priced, the other dishes were ok. Views are stunning and great to fall on to the beach and enjoy the view after dinner.

Phelps pasties were good but found a small shop in St Ives was better.

Thanks everyone and noted your other suggestions, will go back down in a few years just on our own no doubt.
