Rock Shox Relay Race rebuild help

My forks have siezed up. When I bought the bike they had no pressure, which was easily sorted. They lost pressure once more, but have been fine since then. The lock out has never worked but not bothered me tbh.

They have now seized around the midway point, and bang on something when ridden and are very stiff. My local bike shop can't help.

Is a rebuild with a service kit off ebay the way forward here, or should I bite the bullet and send it somewhere. Its a bit of a bugger as I was about to sell the bike, and might just list it at 99p on ebay now.

Relay?

On the assumption you mean Reba (or any other RS from from what, 2005-2010) then chances are it's a seal/O-ring that' failed in the damping leg (Motion Control?) gubbins. The lockout not working and only getting 1/2 travel are the common signs.

It's allegedly a simple fix (having never tried it myself), requiring a rebuild kit and the usual fork stripping/servicing parts.

Rock Shox Recon Race SL Solo Air w/Lockout 100mm not quite sure of the vintage. I have emailed a couple of bike shops but not heard back yet on the service kit I need. If anyone can help me out it would be much appreciated, not sure who to use to order a kit from.

OK Ordered the right service kit for the damper, this seems to be a common problem. I have found the sram manual and a youtube video of the rebuild in Russian, wish me luck.

I suspect this may have contributed to my many fallings off out MTBing, as its obviously never worked correctly. Can't wait to strip it down.
