Been offered a good deal on a 987 (2.7). Semi seriously suggested to Mrs rix that we could chop her Aygo in for it. She said she'd rather have the Aygo...

She's not exactly into cars granted but I just don't get it! There would be no extra financial outlay (for her), so it flummoxes me!

Anyone else's partner appear to be the epitome of the anti-petrolhead?

I would bet that most people would choose an Aygo over a Boxster.

Once you have accepted this, life being a petrol head becomes more bearable.

What would she rather have half of in the divorce settlement; an Toyota shopping trolley or Porsche speedster?

Are they both the same colour? Will one clash with her favorite handbag?

My misses has a 107 and a 225 TT Quattro tucked up in the garage, she never drives it as it drinks too much petrol and road tax is more than the £20pa for the 107. Guess who pays the fuel bill on it, I pay the rest, including £700 last time around for MOT suspension bushes etc.
About to pull the WBAC quote on it as it's done 200 miles since its MOT last year and is depreciating like a stone despite less than 67k on it in 11 years...........

Agree stonking little motors, cheap as chips to run, never below 50mpg even doing 2mile town runs, £20 road tax, not bad on motorways (you just have to plan ahead..).

Has two boots.

More room for shoes and bags.

It really depends on the age and mileage of the Porsche. Hassle free motoring is key.

I was gonna say. I'd be quietly confident that a Boxster actually has a larger bootspace than an Aygo!

My Wife is the complete opposite, she has no problem with what I buy, and is happy with me changing my car on a 3-6 monthly basis. I even change hers quite frequently.
However...... baby has arrived and we just bought a 335d touring, she said we have to keep it 5 years eek what she means is if I want to sell it, she is having it.hehe

This. Had a C1 as a courtesy car the other day and I literally couldn't believe how good it was.

No Boxster though...

I even tried a different approach...

"do you want a Porsche?"
"no"
"ok, do you want my car" wink
"no"

Bugger!
