Renault sport Megane help
Discussion
Ok, first car was a phase 1 225, also came as a cup model later in life which gave it better handling.
Then came the phase 2 225, this had a revised interior, new look with the front bumper having a sharper 'nose' where the renault diamond is. Leather interior and toys. Cup came along and the standard car could be specced with cup chassis. 225 F1 came which were only blue (apart from a couple of stray black ones) they were a standard car with cup chassis and Recaros.
Finally the R26 230 F1 (classically yellow) had a LSD, Cup chassis and Recaros as standard. Best of the bunch of the normal cars.
After this came the epic R26.R, the track car stripped out, fixed buckets, plastic windows etc.
What specifically do you want to know?

Hi m8 and tks. I know nothing is the problem I'm a. 911 man and run a gt3 but fancy something else to run as well. Im interested in a black car potentially.
Is there power differences in the 230 and 225 im assuming 230hp and 225hp respectively ?? How easy are they to remap and what's the cost? Can this harm the engine too? I'll need a car with 4 seats so does this limit what car I have?? Ie the r26 is 2 seats?? I'm Essex based
There's a French car section on PH, but nothing Renault-specific.
The only one that has two seats is the R26.R - all the others have regular rear seats. That said, the 225 Trophy, 225 F1 and 230 R26 were only available in a 3-door configuration. Without doubt, the R26 is the one to have as it has an LSD and slightly more power.
The 225 and 230 does indeed refer to power, but in this case PS, so they're 222bhp and 227bhp respectively. Re-maps to ~270bhp are common. Would I do it to my own car? Not so sure!

Why not David how does it affect the car ? I've just been reading reviews about them. They seem to have got the thumbs up when first launched over the rivals The only one that has two seats is the R26.R - all the others have regular rear seats. I think he means he wouldn't remap. I'd be going for the R26 230 F1 no doubt, great car, best of the 4/5 seaters.
Stage 1 mapping to ~250bhp is ok, but I'd keep it standard personally unless it's a good map that doesn't make it feel like a diesel
Oh so thats the negative effect a remap can have??? Whos gonna let me have a test drive of their car in return for a go in my 997 gt3?Stage 1 mapping to ~250bhp is ok, but I'd keep it standard personally unless it's a good map that doesn't make it feel like a diesel
On a Renaultsport factory trip, I spoke with the guy behind the development of all Renaultsport's cars. He was pretty adamant that re-mapping the engine wasn't a very good idea as it was already at about as much power as various bits could handle. They built a 250bhp one and it busted.
