Jersey and bib short kits from China

I recall this topic being covered in the past, but can't find anything now.

On Ebay there are quite a few sets of jerseys and short sets, and I recall that others have bought them and been pleasantly surprised by the quality.

So which sellers have you used and been happy with? Happy enough to recommend them to others.

Biggest problem I have is the vast range of size differentials.

I can be anything from XL to 3XL

I find the same when buying Rapha TBH
Their sizing often seems a bit random

And they manufacture lots of their stuff in China.............

I suspect that a lot of the kit you buy in any case is manufactured in China, so I wouldn't expect a huge difference in quality. Do be aware that you are probably buying counterfit goods though, with all that implies.

Doesn't the Rapha site have that sizing section that gives a breakdown of all the parts? Or even then does it not follow suit?

I'm currently toying with splashing out on Rapha bits and bobs

This is something I've been toying with for a month or so, and last night ordered a set from one of the sites. It was £27 for shorts and top, including delivery from China, so if it turns ut to be awful then not the end of the world. It's now no doubt on a slow boat to the UK, and will report back when it is received.

The sizing charts do seem a bit random, with apparently the largest waist size being offered 28" for an XL.

If your buying clothes from China, just ignore the L, XL, XXL,XXXL
Those sixes mean nothing..

For example you might find XXXXL in CN, = XL in USA
Just give sizes in centimeters
Chest, length, shoulder, sleeves, etc, etc, etc

I'd love to, but I just don't have the funds. That's why I'm looking at the Chinese stuff.

There was discussion that some of this stuff is possibly the same as the "geniune" team kit, but comes out of the back door of the factory without tags.

That's the standard "it's not counterfeit" explanation, yes.

I've been looking at these cheap kits, and then today I happened across this:

The official BMC shop, where they are selling full kit (Bib shorts, Jersey & Bag) for 49 Euros (+ 15 Euros shipping) so basically £50! Which looks like an amazing bargain. But details are a bit scarce - what does everyone think? Finger hovering over order at the moment

looks good, no idea of quality though, it could be identical to the team issue kit or it could be cheap stuff with their logo splashed all over it? (unlikely but you never know?!)

the only issue is the sizing as you have to order the same size in shorts and jersey and I for one would need different sizes...

Did you get the chance to have a look? Do they seem any good?

Not sure if it makes a difference, but the shorts aren't exact replicas - they're all black, where the BMC team have large red panels.

I don't mean it in a negative way, but just noting it is slightly different.

Aye, I noticed that as well. The current kit as you describe, and currently being worn is under the BMC Hincapie brand.

Didn't have a proper look, but it seemed to be half decent quality, in the same was as other replica kits are - Ie, not Assos quality, but decent enough!
