I've just watched the video, but I still can't work out how it steers with front wheel drive.

Is there some twist (for want of a better term) built into the drive system somehow?

Good to see you finally invested in a proper seat :-)

FWB works great on recumbents, I've tried a RaptoBike lowracer and in use it feels and rides no different to RWD lowracer- just make sure you design your chain turning sprockets as narrow as possible otherwise you have a nice chunk sticking out in the perfect place to take chunks out of the inside of your knee!

The chain guides are close to the pivot point so the flex in the chain takes up the movement in the axle. Obviously this is limited but for normal road use you shouldn't need more than a few degrees of rotation anyway.

Short report today (I'm supposed to be getting ready for work).



Here's the project next to the new "house" BMX. I chose it because the wheels were the same as the six speed one I have so when I can afford a better wheel I can make my nephews a six speed BMX to play with.

Today I have had to cut the centre pipe out of the forks and replace it with a slightly wider one from a mountain bike so the stem will fit. I also made it long enough to fit the frame properly. I could have shorted the frame brackets but if I ground from bellow it would lower the ride height and make the rake angle shallower, if I ground from the top it would leave even less room for the stem headset and bars.



This side profile photo is for reference later I'll consult an expert (Chris "lowracer" Luxembourg) and work out the what the chain angles need to be with MS Paint.
