Yes, that made interesting reading. Fascinating statistics.

Hamilton is still relatively young by previous F1 yardsticks. I'd be interested to see stats for drivers after their 30th and even 40th birthdays.

It makes Alonsos records even more impressive really, considering he only had 1 win in his first 50 starts. Hamilton has been fortunate to jump straight into a top team so you might expect his record to be even better than most at 100 races.

Villeneuve was probably the last one I can think of?

He's a carbon copy Villeneuve, in a top car the first year, winning the second year when team mate left, drooped from then on. Even has a dodgy music career lined up too!.

of course you have to consider hamilton's team mates:

2 world champions (one of whom he beat in his first season) and kovalainen who is (imo) pretty handy. no team favouratism either, in contrast to vettel and alonso.

Considering he retired at the death whilst leading in Britain and Germany in 1993, you can add 10 points to his total, and take 8 off Prost and that makes it all much closer.

I know its all what ifs etc, but he certainly wasn't The Prof's whipping boy once he got into the swing.
