After we lost Squeaky recently, we think her sister Piglet has been a little bit lonely - they were never remotely close, but now she's got nobody to ignore, lol

Terms of our lease mean we can only have 2 cats, and we didn't want to get a single kitten cos a)that's really sad and b) we can't be certain Piglet wouldn't see it as prey. A single adult, preferably tom, was in order.

On Sunday we collected "Bob", a 2year old rescue Savannah. He's a tough start, poor chap, having been rescued from a home with 60 other cats only last month. He's the scarediest thing you ever met, huge wide eyes, and almost rigid with worry. Granted, it's only been 48hrs, so a little early to be expecting improvement, but we're quietly hopeful that with a lot of patience and TLC he'll start to learn what being a cat is all about, and to actually walk, instead of inching along and dragging his belly on the floor.

This is him on the way home - 4hrs in the car, he barely moved, poor mite.

We've a fairly small, very quiet house in the country - lots of farmland around when we eventually try to introduce him to "outside" (he's been housebound too), Taking things very slowly and quietly at the moment, but he's eating well and using his tray overnight when nobody's about. I don't think he's ever known silence, it just breaks my heart.

Thing is, I'm not sure he's really a "Bob". That's the name the rescue place gave him. Hopefully a more suitable name will present itself in due course!

Naah... Stick with 'Bob'. All the coolest cats are called Bob.

Well done you for rescuing him smile

Don't worry, in a few weeks he will be fine. We rescued a pair of 6 month old kittens who were terrified of dogs, but after a few weeks they now like to sleep cuddled up next to our dogs and rub off them etc (oh, the dogs are 28" to the shoulder)....
