Ooh 'eck! Ive suddenly been afflicted with wonky wipers on my 98 Chim 400.
Had a previous battery problem resulting in the wipers moving very slowly, starter motor not turning over properly etc. I replaced the battery and all electrical stuff is OK.
Now the wipers work fine when on continuous or fast positions. When set to intermittent they sweep to the vertical as normal, then stop and feebly drag themselves a couple of inches back before stopping

Any thoughts or suggestions?

You are not alone.

Mine had something wrong with the 'wiper park switch', whatever that is.

Chap fixed it during service.

Hopefully, someone else will know how to fix it.

Yep, mine developed a similar fault recently, first it refused to sweep fully on the intermittant setting. Now if i use the fully on positions, the wipers fail to park correctly when switched off.

Any thoughts anyone?

Thanks gents.
Looks like one wiper park switch to be replaced then.
As I use the Chimaera everyday the wipers have been getting some use recently. What a wonderful summer .
