A colleague has just phoned to say that what appears to be a totally unmarked white transit camera van is parked over the M5 on J9 ( A46 Tewkesbury ). Although there is the traditional Talivan flap widows it has cables running to 3 white oblong cameras on tripods pointing down each lane. Next to the cameras are yellow boxes.

Inside the van visible through a door is some equipment and signs marked ‘Police’

Are these mini-gatsos ? Is this a scumera van ? There is no evidence of the usual posse of police motorcyclists in the vicinity. The van appears to be unmanned.

They must be having a purge. Cos I have seen the same thing a few times on M5 at Gloucester and also at Avonmouth over the past month.

Good evening Dave..

No Reg plates on here...a variety of reasons..

Firstly and importantly Petrol Ted doesn't like it.

Secondly, there are times when unmarked vehicles and their registration plates are best keep out of the public domain for a variety of security and safety reasons...

Thirdly, posting such things might upset BiB management who might take more than a healthy interest in what is written on here..(topical fear, that one)
