Was daydreaming my way through the subtleties of BMW's many kidney grille arrangements this morning and thought, hmm, what's the best radiator grille ever. obv many have nowt to do with a radiator now, witness the new unimogs or a Merc CLK GTR. From there it's (as with any topic) a short hop to thinking of D type jags, so let's have your favourite grille and your fave radiator aperture:

Grille: very mainstream, but i love an E46 facelift grille. Particularly if it is connected to an Alpina B3S Touring

Aperture/ Hole: D type jag- Malcolm Sayer, I should have tried harder at maths

Ok, not strictly a 'radiator' grill but I still think this wins.

Don't know if it's the best, but it's certainly one of the most talked about in car design:

I like Mercedes grills from the 60's.

1970 Camaro is rather nice too;

Oh, there's always grills with staircases on them wobble

The problem is that that always reminds me of Jezza driving the Atom 300.
