Ban driving on a sunday? UK Gov idea
Discussion
Wouldn't it be a better idea to have designated places where children can play. You could have grass, swings, a roundabout, a slide. Parents could park their children there in complete safety. Ohhh you could call it a Park!
hmm not sure, i think it's a bit of a crazy idea, not sure if it would catch on.
Actually, children playing in the road is much better. Children will get used to playing in the road then when they run back out in the same road on monday morning and get hit by a car the motorist can simply wave a calendar at them and everything will be ok

Heres the link to yet another attack on drivers. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/8492997/Cars-could...
Slight over exageration on the headline there, they are talking about closing selected residential roads for a period of hours on a Sunday, not a blanket UK wide driving ban for one day a week.

No son, no panic delete. I just can't be arsed with the nit picking A holes that often frequent PH. I was warned before I joined.

You don't have to delete posts to avoid nit pick, just don't look at the thread. And the artical is in today's "TIMES" http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/public/cyclesafety/a...

Where I live big chunks of most cities are already pedestrianised with "pavements". The cars aren't allowed on them, and they seem to work well as long as the pedestrians aren't drunk.Captain Muppet said:

Oh that's cool, so they do this just on the Sunday, then back to normal on the Monday then?Because the link was about just Sundays. Most city's and towns across the UK have pedestrianised zones.

Sorry if I didn't know what the thread was about, but with you deleting then editing content from the OP it gets a bit confusing.
Awesome thread though, really enjoying being part of it.
I think this scheme has already been trialled on my estate. Cars weren't banned per se, but they had to share the roadway with dozens of kids, avoiding footballs, bicycles, toy prams and various other articles.
Another good feature of the trial, iirc, was once you were parked up and indoors, the children would happily bounce heavy leather footballs off the parked cars, retrieve them from your property (to save you from doing it) and occasionally pull flowers out of your flower beds to use as toys.

yea, the thread title doesn't say SUNDAY does it
How the hell does a simple thread turn into yet another attack the poster? How does that work? Just throw in your kick like a pack of dogs

The anonymity of a forum ey, were you can gang up on people that you would not in the real world.

Pah, there are Dual Carriageways around where the same things apply. I wish people would keep their offspring under control.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
