I walked across the common this afternoon. I have to say the ground is pretty soft; hope it doesn't rain too much more over the next few days.

This few days of this funny orange thing in the sky will help that out this week as it's (hopefully) Sun Sun Sun until Wed.

Today's weather will gave helped a lot.

Note, though, that the usual spectator parking area off Cravells Road is not available this year.

Aiming to get to this for about 2pm, any idea where's best (closest) to park if the main parking field is closed off?

Best weather for this event for years! It's going to be a busy one, so if you can get there early I recommend it as the traffic can be horrendous!

Can't wait! Shame i wont be back from work until 7pm though, last year i was there from 3!

Err.... don't they have the over spill car parks on the common land pointing towards St. Albans ?

Bloody hope so as I've 3 kids to bring along from my street.

Apparently since I mentioned it they have worked them selves into a near Christmas Day state of excitement.

We are only parking once we done a few laps of Harpenden Rd next to the cricket club and past the Silver Cup laying down some rubber !!

The traffic there is usually horrendous, so I doubt you'll bother doing a lap of honour by the time you've done your queuing! On the plus side, there will be food available there, as I followed the vans on my way in to work this morning!

Well, the grass wasn't cut on the common where they have had parking before when i left for work this morning, so unless the tractor has been out today (which i doubt) there no one will be parking there..

It was certainly a good day for it, a shame I couldn't stay long, 2hrs really wasn't enough but had to go pick up the children from nursery.

Anyway, I've added some pics to my page here: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.101519469...

Truly great event this year.

The Countach driver deserves some sort of award for his flypast mid-evening, but not sure the organisers would have seen it that way...
