(Sorry if a repost, PH search not working.)

Anyone find journey times going up, increased fuel usage, more stress when commuting?
Even on the bike I have all three..
Seems a lot of trouble to watch a few runners and swimmers. My company is in danger of losing money due to this, the staff aren't happy. Did anyone think of the repercussions and real cost to the economy?
The miles of stationary traffic can't be good for the environment either.

Your thoughts please?

Yup, roads closed in my area, traffic lights re-phased to cause maximum chaos on my routes and I'm having to work nights from the 29th.

Not much so far - slightly more busy. But as I live near Greenwich, on a route to Stratford and have to get to work in Camden, I'm fearing the worst come the 27th!

Only because I couldn't give a flying turd about the massive waste of money that is constantly on my tv, by all means carry your poxy oversized zippo lighter wherever you wish I just don't have to see and hear about it.

Actually the currently un-enforced Olympic lanes probably gained me 10-20 car lengths on a journey yesterday. laugh

Well the games was "won" back in the boom times...nobody thought of the cost to the economy in a recession or did any contingency planning but is any forethought ever expected from the government, let alone a labour one...

My mates and I are having holidays cancelled, leave cancelled, and my travel arrangements from Germany to UK for summer leave have been paid for and are being cancelled too.
We've been 'slightly' inconvenienced... Lol.

I guess they will, I live near the Weymouth part of it. Not bothered by it, won't be watching much, I don't know when it's on or for how long.

Yup....the commuter coach service i use will have to run through south london. It will be chaos.

I only get paid if I turn up at work.

My only option is to pay around £30 a day extra for taxi/train.
