There are lots of cars that I would love to own at some point and I always have an idea of what I would like next. A B7 RS4 Avant and an Abarth 500 would be a nice update to my current fleet (although the Abarth may need to be substituted for something more practical)!

However, is there one car that you would realistically like to own before you die? I have ruled out the likes of Astons and Ferraris and the like but have always thought that a Porsche 911 would be my achievable dream. I hoped to own one by the time I was 30 but that didn't happen, so now I'm aiming for 40. They are not so rare that I would struggle to find one and one that I like could feasibly one day fall into my budget. I would be quite happy with any 930, 993 or 997 coupe (not so keen on the 964 or 996 though). However, these two are actually two of my favourite 911s!

964 RS

996 GT3

Black also being my colour of choice.

However, if I move to the US/Canada, which is a very real possibility, a car that handles so well around corners would be a bit of a waste of time, so I would go with a 1960s Mustang or Camaro, possibly like this

or this...

So what is the one car that you realistically hope to own before you die?

Realistically I'll probably never own a Ferrari, Lambo or Aston. By as nice ad they are I'm not sure I'd like one.

I'd love to own a few little sports cars like the Triumph Spitfire and Westfield. I'd love an original Mini and a Bond Bug too. Ultimate car for me would be a Porsche 993 Carrera.

Atom V8 for me, although that is never going to happen. Perhaps I should just aim for 'drive before I die'.

Bought the 911 so HAVE to have an F car before I die, hopefully when I'm still young enough to enjoy it!

You should probably tell us what your one car you hope to own is first wink

Mine, at the moment, would be a twin turbo supra in black. Possibly a bit like this:

I could just about buy one now but couldn't afford to run it and it'd be totally impractical for work. But one day, hopefully before they're all completely knackered, I'll get one.

The monaro, rs4, esprit V8, GTV V6, 850 csi, phase 2 clio V6, T350 etc can all wait.

Agree with that one!!!

So I got this for my 25th birthday nearly 4 weeks ago.

I have always wanted a caterham and it became a dream car when I first sat in one at 10 years old.

A Ferrari, but an F355 GTB would be great. A big front engines V12 awesome. An F40 perfect.
