I have recently purchased a G Reg 400 SE and I am having some problems locating were the water is coming in. It seams to be getting past the window seal that is attached to the Hood then leaking down on to the carpet were to forms a pool were the seat belt bolts through the floor. This must have been going on for years as the carpet on the driver’s side is rotten and smells like a damp “Dogs Pelt”.
Can any one give me some advise, and also tell me where I might get a new carpet.
Thanks:
Christien.

Drill a hole in the corner where it's gathering as I remember this is where the seatbelt mounts are and you don't want them getting rusty.
As for finding the leak - well a common spot is the end of the seal at the bottom of the big hoop the hood attaches to. This sits just above the spot you mentioned and water runs along the seal until it reaches the end and then just drips off. Many hood have a little flap at this point, it's inportant to make sure it is on the outside of the car and not protruding onto the insude as it redirects these drips away from the cab.
Then again it could be comming from somewhere completely different.
Good luck!
(BTW I bought my old G reg 400SE from from a bloke in Cumbria - don't tell me it's a blue one as well!)

Thanks for that, no it’s Italian Red and I got it for a man in Canterbury, probably paid to much but I have always loved them so who cares. I also have an NG TC with a V8 in it which is mint and I spent 8 years building it but the TVR is better, I got the car for my girl friend so we could share it and give us a more usable car but I like things right so I am starting the process of sorting out the faults. So it’s very helpful to talk to some people with experience.
Water proof your hood as well if it needs it. Otherwise the fabric will soak it up like a sponge and drip it in all over the place.
Also you can cut out the seal at the bottom by the door sills. About 2 inches cut out around 1 or 2 inches from the uprights. Piccy around here somewhere.
