Hi,

Can anybody recommend a reliable company to take my car to for a power hike? I live in Berkshire so if the car is in the garage for a while it would help if it was local!

Cheers,

Mark

Might help if you tell us what car it is and what kind of power hike you want.

If it's for the GT86 you've just ordered, it's too new to have any established tuning paths yet, you'll have to wait and see. It is just possible that Prodrive might do something for the mechanically identical BRZ.

There will be a lot of people working on tuning parts for the GT86 right now, so you will have options. However, short of adding forced induction, the best one can really hope for is a slight power increase, better mid-range response and a better noise; being normally aspirated, there won't be scope for very significant power increases without radical and expensive work.

I hope and expect there will be some good turbo and supercharger kits for the GT86. However I would be slightly wary of being the first to dive in, since those who pioneered the current model MX-5 supercharger kit ended up spending a lot of time and money, and never getting a car that ran right - physically fitting the kit is the easy part, getting the car remapped to run properly with it seemed to be more difficult.

Yeh, was looking into tuning the new GT86. However, in no real rush. Just curious as to what 3rd party tuning companies were coming up with in comparison to TRD or STI parts for the Subaru BRZ and GT86.

I imagine Se7en Motorsport will be potentially looking into tuning these also as they have done a great job with the gen7 celica.

I like the front bumper and rear lights, not keen on the skirts or the Lexus IS-F style exhaust.
