Samoyed with greasy fur.

Hi folks,

A neighbour has a twelve year old Samoyed bh who's beautiful white coat has recently become very grey,and greasy, and smelly too. He's tried washing it with washing-up-liquid, but to no avail. She's almost lame now, and is totally deaf. Both of which are probably age related, but does the coat normally change like this with age too?

Oh, and she hasn't been rolling in oil.

Has it had a vet check recently? THey can see if it is a skin condition and advise on an appropriate shampoo (washing up liquid is definitely not suitable unless it is due to an external source.

There could be hormonal changes causing it, could be an underlying skin infection etc. So really unless already been to a vets get them to have a look first.

Our Newfie had a few skin issues which in the end we were paying £150pcm or so for drugs from the vet which I injected into her. We got some homeopathy for her and it was problem solved.
