Is there a list of 'consumables' worth carrying about in the car? Fuses/relays and the like.. Sort of thing that might go pop, and cause embarrassment, but is an easy fix? So spare starters and clutches aren't really viable. ;-)

Cable ties, relays, fuses etc. A spare "big fuse" would come in handy too. This can cause absolute chaos if it breaks, its a 100AMP located at the back of the engine. I carry a spare throttle cable in mine too, thankfully when it last broke I was only on the driveway.

On the subject of 100amp fuses.. I have seen there is a way to upgrade to a better version, but all the links were dead. I assume it is just a fuse holder and a blade type 100amp fuse?

Cable ties, gaffer tape, tyre weld, 100A fuse and an AA card just about covers it.

More comprehensively a small tool kit with the addition of a 7mm nut driver for hose clamps and a set of allen keys, spare fuses, bulbs, hi vis vest, warning triangle, torch.

ETA Clever Trevor seem to have the encapsulated type fuse http://clever-trevor.net/TVR/Parts_details/M1960/g...

The above + latex gloves (you wouldn't want oily hands on the leather steering wheel), duct tape, allen keys (selected few), screwdriver bits/hex bits and handle, adjustable spanner, needlenose pliers, breakdown recovery card.

And fire extinguisher! I've had to stand back and watch a car I owned burn, and it's a helpless feeling. Even if you don't use it, you could be someone elses hero and save their car.

As usual, however much you carry, the problem you get will need the one thing you don't have, but, something is better than nothing.

Questionable. The fuse is directly between the alternator and battery, so its only really there to prevent the battery melting if there is a direct short circuit in the alternator so 25A will make no practical difference. Regardless, that style of fuse is also available as 100A rather than 125A, you can usually find them if you poke about on ebay.
