L200 and Navara info

After a conversation at work today with a customer I found out a bit of interesting information but was wondering if it is true or not. He was giving us a heads up that the police are cracking down on the 60mph limit you should do in vans on a roads and showed me a speeding ticket he had been issued for doing 63mph. Thing is he was in a l200 and was told that they come under the same category as vans and should be driven at 60mph.

Does anyone know if this is true or has he been done over by a not so friendly policeman. I have tried looking the info up and can't find nothing but if this is the case also what other vehicles fall into this category that people don't know about
