Which famous racing driver won the first race they entered?

It has been bugging me for ages...I know the answer, but just can't remember it. Something tells me Jacky Ickx, but I am honestly not sure if that is right. Any ideas from the experts out there?

wasnt Clark. J Viellneuve came close with a 2nd behind Hill. Farina of course, as he won the very first race! I'm sure someone won their first race in the early 60s- Bandini perhaps??

Nope, not Ickx.

He did well in his F1 debut but not a win.

A couple of current F1 drivers managed that iirc, and a few more managed to win the first championship they entered too.

First F1 race - Giancarlo Baghetti - 1961 French GP - he didn't win another!

Way back in March 1984 I attended a race meeting at Oulton Park . One of the races was the opening round of the Dunlop / Autosport Formula Ford Star of Tomorrow championship . The race was won by Mark Blundell who I think was taking part in his first motor race . If he is regarded as being a famous racing driver then he can lay claim to the above .

I've read this in an autobiography too & I think it was graham hill? Hired a race car to have a go then took it from there maybe?

Has anyone mentioned John Surtees? I am sure I read recently that when he moved from 2 wheels to 4 he won his first ever race.
