Hi.
I ame running a one off design project in Sweden based on a super 7 frame together with a designer for Central St.Martins in London.
As I ame a huge TVR lover the ame is to have the project car running on a TVR speed 6 power plant.
The problem is that as I ame from Sweden and TVR's are rare here i onaly get to knot the good stuf about the cars and all I know of the engin problems are from lose comments about "50% engin brake downs"

I guess what I ame asking is for someone to quickley explain what the deal is with thees engins.
Is it just the early ones that hade problems or all of them?
What was the main issues?
The TVR engin is by a long way my favorit chois but I don't whant the engin to "pop" after a month.

seven with S6 engine

I don't own a TVR so I'm hardly qualified to answer, but from what I've read on the threads, a bad batch of finger followers was the main issue. Generally, the newer engines are reliable so long as you drive regularly and don't skip on maintenence.

But where are you going to get the engine from?

What's this. No faith??
OK so i did not spell out all about the project.
It is a longer and wider spaceframe than the original, manufactured in sweden, designed to fit the tvr engin in question sines that was the intention from the start.
As to were a 700 kg car with a massive tvr engin is to b driven the consern is fair enough. But as I sade. It is a design project with focus on exteriors and sines I have a speed 6 engin for sail here in Stockholm that would give the project more publicity here than running on, lets say a BMW M3 engin.

Sounds cool!!

Are you really worried about reliability? Really? Is this going to be a daily commuting car? Didn't think so.

If the '7' is designed to take a SP6, stick it in. It will be awesome.

Personally, I'd design your spaceframe to accept the Lotus V8 engine found in the Esprit. Running at 1 bar turbo pressure those engines are good for 500Bhp, they are also very compact and light and possibly more reliable than the Speed 6 engine. Couple that with a Quaiffe 6 speed sequential gear box, and Bobs your Uncle and Fanny's your proverbial Aunt!
