I logged into hotmail earlier today and noticed I have only used 1% of my space. Which is not much, ages ago I paid £20 to have 10mb and normally use about 75%. But i have realised my inbox has now got a 2000mb (2gig) of storage. Where has this come from?! have they charged me for it? not received an email from them or not charged me on my credit card.

Is this not a move against G-mail? My Yahoo account has increased in size too - for free.

I can't remember tbh but I'm sure I have read that MS and Yahoo were responding to the size of G-mail accounts in this way.

HTH (If I did!)

G Mail is the google webmail system.

When it goes live every user will recieve 1Gb of mail space.

Mine has gone up to 250Mb, while a colleagues has stayed at 2Mb - some inconsistency then still!

You did - about 1 month ago. It was in the usual "Hotmail members" e-mail and explained all was going up. It said something about if you paid for the 10mb then you get services over and above what everybody else got (can't remember what though).

It's all in response to G-Mail as mentioned above - huge online storage meant Hotmail's 2mb was ridiculous.

I have a Gmail account. Currently you can only get them by invite.

They come highly recommended, even if the GUI isn't very authodox.
