The thing is though that the RNLI would have had to prioritise. It isn't clear whether the plank was actually in danger, or just needed a bit of help. No and Yes.There's been one or two threads on this forum over the past couple of years where newbies have thought they would just 'have a go', luckily in the minority though.
Boating is easy, anybody can do it, but not to learn the basics is totally foolhardy.
