My wife's CLK has beige seatbelts and they are almost black in places.
I have tried to clean them but I've made no impression so far.
I've tried:
1) Warm water
2) Magic sponge
3) Vanish
All make no difference.
Can anyone suggest what may improve them?
Thanks,
Shentodj

Washing powder solution in a bowl and soak them. Works wonders.

I don't know what APC is. Can you explain and suggest supplier please?
Washing powder solution - what sort of ratios - not sure how to soak them (and more importantly dry them) in situ. Are you suggesting I removed them?

APC = All Purpose Cleaner

I just use a normal dose of washing powder as if I were using the washing machine, and then fill up a washing up bowl with warm water. If the water starts looking really grotty you can always change it.

You don't need to remove them, just fully extend them and use a clothes peg or such to prevent them retracting.

To dry, leave them extended and hook them up to something to hold them up. A hair dryer will speed up the drying process if you want. Make sure they're fully dry before letting them retract.
