I think he meant which model! Surely a 996/997tt would at least be a match for the Tuscan?

I think our Tussaud are quicker than we think I went to germany with 8 other petrolheads 5 of them in 911 s 996 s and 997s and I left them all hardest test was a limited edition boxter (sports) the only car that was no match was the lambo gallardo . My mates think I'm nuts driving at such speeds with no aids but I love it (proper driving)!!!!!!

Deposited my son in town earlier on and on the way back met a 911 Turbo. Having had the Tuscan for 5 weeks I have got a bit more used to the power and actually have been considering what next in terms of mods for more power.

Dry dual carriage way 20 degree temps, warm tires and hot oil, all three lights on in 2nd and 3rd and 911 toast.

very satisfying and very naughty.

he he

Just for the record kept within the speed limit at all times.......
I think the Porsche driver was playing with you. I have had 2 Tuscans (MK2 and MK3S) and a 997 Turbo - and the Turbo would leave the TVR for dead, TBH it left most things for dead!

Btw I was out in my 330s Scoob the other day and was witness to what a 911T can do - I think my Tuscan would be hard pressed to compete with that. And the Scoob ain't exactly slow itself.

I recall giving a 997 4S a proper spanking enroute to Brighton! It just couldn't keep up..

I used to own a 996 Turbo (with slightly increased turbo pressure I must admit :-) ) and it absolutely trashed everything on the road (or almost everything). Although the TVR is much more fun to drive a 996Turbo and definatly a 997Turbo will leave me standing still in my Tuscan S (as it would do with most Ferrari's, Lambo's etc.)

Quarter mile times for a standard 996 turbo are pretty much the same as for a Tuscan, give or take a tenth or two. Obviously, throw in corners and damp roads....

Granted a 997T is a different proposition. smile

Sold my 4.3 T350 and bought a 996 turbo As I needed 4 seats !

In std form I'm sure the T350 would match it or maybe take it but once you start tuning the Porsche it becomes
a different beast !

And yes I do regret selling the tiv,but the pork ain't a bad family car just far too quiet !!!

The key to beating a Pork Turbo is to find an oponent with an auto box currently stationary. Most modern Tivs will beat it to approx 80 as they bog down at launch if the driver isn't really ready. After that they tend to march into the distance like a Panzer heading for Paris.
