Revival,Le Mans or Silverstone classic
Discussion
Done them all.
Revival (five or six)
Le Mans Classic (first time)
Silverstone Classic (first time)
But which one is best for you.
For me.....its like this
Silverstone:
Incredible turn out for the club cars.
The races and cars racing (including tivs) was excellent.
Plenty of beer on sale.
Journey was nice (1hr 30) for me thru Buckingham etc and blagge VIP parking.
Never stayed for concert but liked that option !!
Would go again, and camp for a few days
Le Mans:
Great turn out for the club cars.
The races an cars racing (incluing Tivs) was excellent (particularly the novelty of night racing)
Beer on sale (although infrequently and dire waiting in line)
Journey was incredible in a convoy (two chimps,944 pork and a 2006 Vantage) all the time passing or picking up others along the way.
Camping was great fun, but i thought facilities were poor (in comparison)
Would go again, if only for the comeraderie and journey.
Goodwood Revival:
Carpark is hard to walk past as every car is a head turner (even the little stuff)
Races an cars are so varied (moreso than Le Mans an Silverstone)
Beer tents EVERYWHERE !!
Journey (2hrs) is (final 3rd) lovely.
Camping is great, good facilities and transport to circuit.
And i love the circuit too, it is SO accessible all round and the grassy banks for laying down and supping ale in the sun while inhaling burning oil are the best.
The stuff going on around the circuit is brilliant too, so its not e requisite to watch cars all day (and i don't mean stands flogging Steve McQeen Gulf jackets either.
And finally....the women !! Even the ugly ones look fantastic in 1940's 50's and 60's garb !!
For me, its the Goodwood revival

Are you staying overnight ??
Dont answer that last bit, he has a habit of slipping in with other blokes, if you get what I mean!!

I've yet to do the LM Classic, however as far as the other two go, I think Silverstone is a fantastic Event and it seems to grow and grow every year- the highlight for me is all the different car clubs that are represented and the fact that you can get up close to all of the cars that are competing and chat away to the drivers.....
But- nothing beats the Revival. It is just a sensational weekend. It is so good that I do all three days- the quality of the grids is astounding, utterly mouthwatering and you are so much closer to the track- for these two reasons it is better than Silverstone. That doesn't even take account of the period feel of the event, the entertainment inside the circuit and the public car parks full of all sorts of exotica that would ordinarily take two full days of walking around to fully appreciate.
Roll on September!
