Museums in northern Italy???

You can get a ride over the lake in a seaplane if you go to the Aero Club Como.
Moto Guzzi museum is on the Eastern fork of the lake, in Mandello del Lario.
You can rent speedboats from Cernobbio or Mennagio. And probably a few other places.
Alfa Romeo is from Milan, so maybe they have something. As is Colnago if you like bicycles. The famous Vigorelli velodrome still stands but it's now used as an American football ground.
I have a vague notion that there is a De Tomaso or Maserati museum somewhe round there too.
If you want normal museums and intend to see the last supper then you must book tickets in advance. Usually this means booking onto a guided tour of that and the Sforza castle, as they go so quickly.

If they're heading to Milan (it'll be hot and busy).... The Science Museum is certainly worth a look, plenty of interesting stuff: http://www.museoscienza.org/english/
