Just said on the radio that there are 2 hour delays on the A13 due to lane changes. That's without school traffic! On your marks, get set, stop..

I'm in SW London and have a 11.00 start in Cambridge on Weds. Maybe I'll just head down the A3 and go round the M25 to the M11.

It's the sort of thing my Dad does biggrin

They have closed one of the Lanes on canning town flyover in what looks like to make it an olympic lane I imagine.

Took me an extra 6 minutes to get in this morning.

Did I mention I ride a bike? Smug, me? hehe

That's exactly what I found myself thinking the other day. I wouldn't put it past them to keep restrictions on a number of the 'Games Lanes' post-Olympics.

In fact, I'd put money on it happening.

I have been quite lucky with this, I travel from battersea to Bellingham / catford straight round the south circ, since TFL have been fiddling around with the lights ect it seems to have shaved around 10 mins each way from my commute, however I have colleagues that have to travel in from Essex via a13 m11 a12 ect and they are all having to leave a half hour to 45 mins earlier already, dread to think what it's going to be like when your going to have 1100 games lanes cars an hour on the roads also

Must say I did appreciate not being able to turn right to park at St Katherine's Dock.... but of course I appreciated the fine architecture of the Limehouse Link Tunnel heading east, and heading back west again to get to my original turn, yes, that was lovely.

....and yes, I'll find a better route tomorrow! smile

Not good is it. frown

Was driving into London on Thursday via the A12. Typically takes around 1-1hr 15 mins. Absolute standstill once I'd entered London. Trip took 2.5hrs. Not impressed.

I travel into town via the A2 and the Blackwall tunnel and for the last week it has been so quiet it's unbelievable, this morning was no different. I'm on a bike but the lack of other traffic is very noticeable. Even along the Commercial road etc is comparatively quiet. Fingers crossed it stays that way (although I'm not hopeful)

I think so little traffic can actually make it into london its keeping the likes of commercial road dead. This morning especially up to limehouse! Empty.

Good Q. Dunno the answer, but I doubt that they will all be returned to 'Normal Use' post-Games.

Possibilities are endless. But I suspect they include being restricted to the use of eco-friendly cars, busses (although many of them aren't inside lanes so this is less likely), cyclists (same caveat as above) or some car-pooling scheme, amongst others.

I am sure the fact that 'traffic flowed so smoothly during the Olympics, without the use of the lanes' will be used to justify their non-return.

A2 was rubbish at 6 this morning approaching Kidbrooke, thanks for messing with the traffic lights its normally ok through there!!!!

Am waiting for the hundreds of crash's to occur as people swerve to avoid the oylympic lanes, already had people do it to me and there not even active yet.

It hasnt been clear upto Kidbrooke, has been gridlocked all the way back to Bexleyheath. I agree that once you get passed Kidbrooke it has been clear though.
