Purchased a TVR 350 off ebay .

It's been stood for over 2 years , drive's good - goes like a train.

Spotted an oil weap from around the rear of engine ?

Disc's slightly pitted.

Air filter bracket broken.

Window motors apparently are slow ?

Would like to confirm origins and history please.

Pleased so far - taxing it the end of the month so will find out what its like on a long run.

Thanks to all the TVR guys who let me view there cars , plus also the guys who brought my Vixen (that's in bits ) - good luck on the rebuild.

Regards

steve;)

Maybe the diff oil then or grease? there's no engine oil going to the back, it does have the fuel tanks there though.... you sure it's not fuel?\

no big deal get a conical filter maybe that goes directly onto the throttle housing.

The motors are slow with the engine on too? If not it might be the battery getting weak, greasing the rails up a little helped too!

hope you have a lot of fun with it!

Is it a 350 or a 350SE with the 3.9l engine

the side says so! And that's a big difference wink

The privous owner stated its a 350 SE number 26 out of 25 produced . Because no number 13 was used.
All I can say at present it says 3.9 on the plen/box and seems noticably faster than some of the 3.5 labelled cars I have been in.

Just about to inspect under body thoroughly ! any thing to look for ?

initial inspection showed no rot on the chassis

Looks good, enjoy the mad wedge life we all have, I have a bit of history on some wedges sold via eBay, message me your reg number and I will check if I have anything, looks like someone has painted the wheels and removed the TVR centres, but who minds, it looks a fine car.

Sorry got nothing on that reg number, 4 tail pipes look good!
You can get all details re previous owners and any other V5 Log book changes by filling in a form and sending it to DVLA costs a £5 from memory and takes a few weeks. I did it on mine and found out one of the previous owners had my surname.

Check if they are the same size and shape, your wheels are like mine, the centres are doomed which is not common.

Hi Mate..A word of warning..Be careful as power steering fluid is flammable and i nearly burnt my car down when my alternator caught fire after being drenched in the stuff from a leak, It can also catch fire on a hot exhaust..Try to determine if it is the hose or the pump..They leak from the pulley side when the seal rots..get yourself a turkey baster to draw out the fluid in the pump so you can remove the hose..The hose from the pump to the rack has a sealed fitting both ends but i believe the return is clipped in place..If the pump is shot it is cheaper to buy a new one from rimmer bros rather than having it refurbed..
There are differences of opinion when it comes to poly or standard bushes..When i spoke to taylor TVR dan pointed out that the originals have lasted this long..(30 years)..They are also cheaper, Poly bushes are ok if you intend tracking the car apparently but dont last as long..Hope this helps...Ziga

The hand brake is almost verticle when operated.

Checked the cable adjuster and there is a max of 10 mm adjustment left.

But looking at the actuator arms , when the brake is on , they are not symmetrical.

Any advice please, before I blindly start .

Regards.

Hi Mate..I believe the handbrake is adjusted at the caliper end, There is also a lubrication nipple on the sleeving to prevent sticking or corroding..If you email me now then i will send an email with a pic from the wedge bible as we are not allowed to post it on here...Cheers...Ziga
