Upgrade time.. Project thread

Hi all
Had my M12 for about a year now and i wish i knew what i know now when i was looking to buy one! I have learnt alot! I bought an M12 from a supposedly reputable TVR dealer in the Guildford area (not allowed to mention the name on here!). All went fine, including them agreeing to do some work on the car (cracked manifolds etc) before i bought it. I took the car to Jetstream for a service a couple of months after buying it and was told by Matt that the chassis was bent in the front passenger footwell area. The damage had been covered up instead of being repaired. Cue months and months of legal work/solicitors, inspections, fights with the dealer in the end they finally agree to pay less than half of the full repair bill. By this time i had spent so much fighting it, i could have saved myself a fortune and paid for the repair in the first place. It was the principle though! I must stress that Dave and Matt at Jetstream were absolutely fantastic during this time, inspecting the car and providing advice on how best to proceed in regards to the car. I was adamant that Jetstream were to repair the car and i am glad i did as the new repair is better than it would have been from the factory!! I also found many bodges that were done by the dealer before i bought the car, they deny any of this!
So i get the car back after 6 months of not driving it, and a few weeks later the open diff in the 5 speed gives up and takes the box housing with it. It left a nice trail of Gbox oil on the road! I decided now was the time to do some upgrades and came up with this list.
My plan was to do everything major i needed for around 500bhp. however i am not planning on upping the power or doing any internal mods until next year
6 speed gearbox upgrade
Gearbox given the full works by Bernie at CTS (Gearboxman)
Gbox oil cooler
Clutch upgrade
Lightweight flywheel
M400 shifter upgrade with uprated linkage
Trackday Sump
Pro alloy radiator, header tank and oil catch can
Modify fuel tank so tank outlet is on the other side and wrap in heat reflective material
Weld plate onto manifolds to strengthen
Recondition rusty chassis
fit M400 seats
Carbon Center panel with oil gauge.. Im sure i have forgotton something here!
I decided i would do all of the work myself in my brothers garage. Anyone thinking about doing the 6 speed conversion please DO NOT underestimate the amount of work involved and parts needed. It is a long list! Massive thanks to Andy, Simon and Grant for their help and advice.
Now some pics
Rusty chassis!

I cut all of this out and replaced it. No during, but here is the car afterwards, after a full rust prevention coating and then some fresh paint.

Closeup

Then it was on to addressing the fuel pump area. I decided to beef it up a bit and added a 2mm ally plate onto the existing plate. This was then heat wrapped and everything mounted on rubber mounts
Fuel pump, filter and Gearbox oil pump

Thats all the photos i took at the moment, but im finishing off the M400 shifter install and Center panel on wednesday. More pics to come Engine going in by the weekend hopefully

That sounds like a good list, it will be a well sorted 500bhp car when finished..
Only thing i would say is, you going to all that work and leave the car with a non baffled fuel system? you have to run witha "minimum" of 35 litres to avoid fuel starvation.
Add a baffled sump to tank, or swirl pot and protect all your hard work..
