The day Mr OB and I met, we went for a drive to Shropshire. We stopped off at a pub somewhere off the M54. The pub was near a river with a little ferry across it.

I was navigating but it was a completely random stop and more than a decade ago. I have no idea where it was but I quite fancy going back.

Does it ring a bell with anyone? As I recall there was a public car park by where the ferry was, and the pub was a little way along with a sort of triangular garden.

How far off the m54?

There is a ferry at Hampton Loade with The River & Rail on one side of the river and the unicorn on the other, it's a bit away from the 54 though.

It was probably a fair way to be honest.

Well have a look at Hampton Loade on google maps, it has the ferry, a public car park and a pub with a bit of a triangle going on (maybe!).

Shropshire isn't big on rivers other than the Severn and this is the only ferry I know of on the Severn (I'm not local to there though so there could be others)

Blimmmin eck, that was quick! Yes Streetview confirms it. Thanks smile

I'd obviously not been map reading properly - as I remember it we were to the north of the M54.

Apt user name by the way thumbup
