Factory open day
Discussion
Replaced clutch a few weeks ago with factory uprated one. Everything was fine except as expected clutch was really heavy. Did 200+ miles with no problem. Car was then left a month due to crap weather. Went to drive again and clutch would not fully disengage to the point that it was impossible to select gears. When new clutch was installed I had to adjust pedal to stop the clutch fork hitting the pressure plate so I know that adjustment is good. It is as if the clutch plate has swollen or something preventing it from disengaging properly. HEEEELLLLPPPPPPPP!
Guys. I think I said this before but maybe not on this thread. The clutch fork is coming hard up against the pressure plate before the clutch is disengaged and staying there. How can that possibly relate to a master cylinder problem? The fork cannot move any further because it is in contact with the pressure plate.
See you tomorrow coming by VW transporter.

that is very interesting can you check through the hole where you fix the pinion for the fork, if your pressure plate is moving towards the fork ?
I assume so otherwise it could not touch it right ?
so that can only mean your clutch disc is too thick or wrong pressure plate and even at full release it is still touching the pressure plate and flywheel.

A big thank you to the Factory for a great lunch. A shame more of you didn't venture out with your garage queens.
Ted had his usual smile when he got back from the test drives. The faces of the passengers varied from 'grinning ear-to-ear' to 'white as a sheet'.
Good to put a few more faces to names on here.
Very interesting journey home through torrential rain and thunder. Only one small "moment" with aquaplaning. Last 5 miles were dry so I managed to blow all the water off before she went back in the garage.
