On my way back from the tip this evening I noticed what could possibly be the next way to fk your car up.

It would appear a group of young lads have fitted what appears to be straight through pipes from the manifold and have them exiting the car just before the rear wheels. Now this would be awesome on a AC Cobra, Viper, Caterfield etc but it was two Mk3 golfs and an old Toyota Corrola.

Not only did they look like a scrap yard challenge special it also sounded st.

I swear they might as well put a sticker in the window saying "Please pull me over and check out my ride officer"

They've probably seen it on a race car somewhere, so therefore:

side exit = fast car

The heat from the exhaust keeps the tyres hot, sticky, more grippy.

Side exit = faster cornering.

"Cos it looks phat innit blud... Bare poon gonna be checking out me ride now innit... Straight up!"

Etc etc...I wonder whether they have just routed the normal exhaust out to the sides. Or gone from the manifold as you suggest...

Only suits muscle cars, Cobras, Caterhams etc.

Not FWD shopping trollies.

Ps, that car appears to have no brakes!

Well, since side pipes have been epic on v8's and kit cars since the dawn of time, but it's juct coming to be "in" now - is it the influence of the NGTC cars in the BTCC? (Or, sadly, is it another Euro thing, after someone else copied the same regs in Germany or whatever?)

I am a bit worried about the "Chav" stereotype.

I wish people would be a bit more respectful. Not everyone makes 40k GBP a year.

some make far less and some make far more- I personally think the term CHAV should be more based towards those that earn nothing (benefits).
In fact you can earn little and not be a CHAV by simply moving into a rented property. Actually with many councils handing over their housing to private companies is CHAV still the correct term?
