shoulder impingement
Discussion
had planned a load of swimming while away for 2 weeks but a quick game of water polo on the 1st day put paid to that....
Had pain in the front of my shoulder above bicep for 6 weeks now. Being desk based and bench press focused (ie not enough pulling) looks to be the problem.
Any advise on which exercises and stretchs worked for you?

I found Eric Cressey's articles really good when I had a similar problem with my shoulder that I got from boxing.

I was also getting really disheartened because it was sore during and after bench presses so my lifts weren't increasing. My form wasn't perfect so I now make sure my elbows don't flare and keep them under my wrists/hands to put less strain on the shoulders.
Edit: also doing chest presses with dumb bells instead of a bar felt better for me so you could give that a try.
