Yes a STUPID title but I didn't know what to put short.
So what do I mean?
Is car that you previously owned good shape these days? It hurt like a b
h when it came to selling it because its your Pride and Joy. The owner has thrown his money at you snatch the keys out of your hands with a big grin and does a massive wheel-spin down the road, turns the corner and you never see your Pride and Joy again. Have you recently spotted your car and the new owner kept it immaculate like you did or is it filthy, modified or you spotted on the back of a lorry that's probably heading to a scrap yard?I don't know if a thread like this has been done?
But what got me to do this was that I recently spotted my old Corsa, a women was driving it and was in bad shape almost ready to be scrapped and I was gutted, even though I only brought that car to get me to A to B I still loved it I kept it looking nice, that's cause I love cars I hate seeing them treated badly.
Have you spotted your car recently with the owner or a different driver/owner from the person who brought the car of you? Fire away with your post. Pictures would be great if you captured your car with the new owner.
Used to see my cousin giving my old 106 GTi death all the time, made me wince when he caned it from cold. I was gutted though when he told me he'd had to sell it for parts, even though it ruined me I loved that car
The engine is still in another GTi I know of though. Not seen my Clio DCi since it was sold, they looked the type to look after it though.

We parted in 08 and I was happy to see that it's still alive and kicking with passed MOT. I keep fantasizing about giving the current owner a call to see if he wants to sell it and I will be willing to pay a decent amount above market value just to get it back...
Back then I was broke and couldn't afford to pay for the big rust job (the canals on early cars caught water [design flaw] and started rusting from inside out) and sold the car... But now the economy is better and I do wish to buy it back and keep it as long as possible. Miss it every day and if I buy it back it will see a total restoration and kept "forever"...

don't even wana think about it..for women, read cars. You should never give them a backwards glance, despite what you feel. You always get over it, and move on anyway. However, I did see my Uni days 1996 Golf Driver a few months ago in Notting Hill and latched onto its bumper for a few miles. Dont know what the driver thought about my gawping and subsequent cack driving but it was a nostalgic momment. Don't think I would have the same feelings if I saw one of the girls I was driving back in the Uni days!..
oh, and the old thing was looking pretty good. I had it from 4k miles from a VAG dealer. Top spec at the time. It looked far better than its 16 years. The middle aged Doris driving wouldn't have looked quite so serene though, if she knew some of the things that had happened in it during my tenure!..

This is awful. Knowing your previous Pride and Joy had an organ donor is harsh. I would've fallen out with the cousin big time.

Hang in there you'll get it back. You never know if the owner has done most of the work when you come to buy it back. Most of the cars I've sold are no longer insured on ask MID, so i assume they have been scrapped.
I bought a Hilux off a friend, ran it for a few years and then sold it back to him.
He's since had it lifted etc and it looks awesome.
I'd be jealous if I wasn't 8,000 miles away and owned a newer Hilux.

I sold my old series 1 106 rallye to a chap in Ireland so never expected to see it again. About 3 years ago I decided to check the Rallye register and actually found it again. Someone had barely driven it and attempted to do a GTI engine swap on it but a chap on the register had decided to rescue it, I followed his progress and he turned it back into an immaculate standard 1.3. I was so tempted to buy it back but due to the amount of work that went into restoring it I dont think it would have felt like 'my' car.
Still, nice to see it got rescued.

My TVR S that was written off by someone else driving into me (absolutely gutted), I had a high agreed value on it and due to serious injury I sold it as spare parts.
It was bought by a fellow PH and he is restoring it for classic rallying. I had a chat the other week, he has slowed down but still intends to restore it. Makes me very happy.

Guy didn't have any hard feelings though, rebuilt it with tougher pistons etc and a bigger turbo so he's happy.
I've moved since selling it, and so has he, and we now live in the same suburb and share a local pub which is pretty cool.
My old BMW 318i sedan was sold to the son of a guy I was in a funk band with. It's still chugging along.

About 10 years ago I owned an immaculate 205 Gti 1.9, it was one of the cars that I really missed after i'd sold it.
It's good to know that it's still going strong even if it's had a few changes.

I only just sold the Scoob and I was devastated - just hope the new owner is looking after her !
But I used to have an S3 (51 plate) and my husband saw it a few weeks ago driving along the M3. It was a company car that I got rid of about 8 years and 4 cars ago - glad that Kitty is doing well !

Back in 2009 I sold my first race bike,a Gsxr1000. I won 5 trophys on that and was truly gutted when the guy drove off with it in the van. Nearly chased after him to get it back.
Was so pissed off when I learned he had broken her to sell for spares. Even now I sometimes look on ebay to see if i can identify any of my old parts on track bikes people are selling.
