Seal Grey does it for me - take a look at the recent road test pics.

Trick it up with all the electronics for resale.

I love Guard's Red and Speed Yellow but you'll be better off in silver and black .

Nothing against silver/black - Daz's car is beautiful - but there are lots of them...

aha yes, but with sat nav then it must also have the phone module.

and with the 19"s it needs PASM, supposedly.

its difficult to know what to do.

not sure if non metallic black would look good

I've seen them in all these colours. IMO, red and yellow really suit the car, especially when viewed from the front. If I had to choose, I would go for the yellow.

But if you are concerned about resale, go for a neutral colour like silver.

Don't Porsche allow you check out the look of the car with a particular colour, on their website?

This is what I would do. Buy a 997 S (gotta be an S) with the following:

Metallic £543 (I'd have arctic silver).
Sunroof £325 (as long as I could get in with my helmet on).
Switchable sports exhaust £1160 (this is only available early next year, but it has to be the most essential extra)).
Coloured wheel crests £107.
Tyre pressure monitors £427.
Cruise control £294.
Sports/electric/heated seats £377/£1006/£269 (black leather for me).
Embossed seats £103.
Bose £768.
Autochanger £248.
Sat nav £1260.
Stainless steel door entry guards £198.

(The list above comes to £7085!!).

Other bits I'd have that I don't have the prices for:
Multifunction steering wheel (triangular boss for me).
Short shifter.
Rear wiper.
Dimming mirrors and rain sensor.
Telephone-hands-free stuff of course, no handset.

Maybe list:

Garage door opener (as part of "welcome home" package).
Black dials instead of white (no-cost option)
Sport Crono pack £507 (don't like the look of the stop watch, but I like the idea of the remapped engine with sharper throttle response.....this might be a gimmicky toy that becomes desirable at resale time).
Park assist £325, but will it look ugly?

So I would have to spend about 8 grand to get the spec I want. This makes the 997 S for John a 73 grand car. Blimey.
