Afternoon All,

I have a bent 45mm inlet valve on a PumaRaceEngines CVH Head.

Dave, if you read this, have you got any spares? I only need 1?

If not, has anyone got any recommendations for manufacturing one off valves? I have heard Cosworth will do them but maybe a minimum of 8 valves?

Thanks in advance,

Steve

Yep I have them. I'll have to check there's a spare so I'm not breaking up a set of 4. I'll get back to you.

Thanks Simon, Had a good look at their website and it's 6-8 weeks to manufacture which won't get me racing at croft in September...

Dave, That's really great news. I wouldn't mind buying 5 if you have them, Spares would be good.

I'll wait to hear from you. Many thanks, Steve

Have you located them Dave? I'm on leave for a week from tomorrow but will keep checking in here. Hoping to get the engine rebuilt for a race at Croft in September.

Do you still have my number?

Thanks & regards, Steve

Very good company, very high quality work. I had a set of bespoke exhaust valves made in Nimonic-80A.
Not cheap but you get what you pay for.

What sort of prices are we looking at for valves from G&S?

For four, it was around £80 each, or £48 each for 12. You get a good discount it seems for buying multiples. I ended up buying eight so i have four spare and found someone else to take the final set. £400 odd for two sets or £320 for one, made sense to go with the bigger order.
You may get cheaper for different/lower tolerance materials I guess but my build is a high power, high boost, Nitrous'd 2.0 lump and I want the option for full ALS in the future too.

That is pretty reasonable Schrick Nimonic exhaust valves are 47.50euro each, before tax and I can't say I was overly impressed with the dimension control on the set I measured. On a set of 8 exhaust valves I found a 20% difference in seat width.

Everything's still packed up after the house move but I think I know where the box of valves is and I'll dig it out as soon as I get a minute.
