About 3 weeks ago I was caught by a police bike doing 104 mph down the Warwick Highway in Redditch. I've heard all kinds of different verdicts from people, but if anyone has been caught doing similar, can they advise as to what I'm looking at?

Cheers

I'll just re-route this to the Speeding and Plod forum, you will get more info there. It will also be worth you searching through some of the past threads too, there is an awful lot of information about this.

Welcome to Ph btw

105 on the A1(M) earned me a 5 week ban and lightened my wallet by 250 sheets.

First offence, no points, 8 years driving, pleaded guilty well in advance and told them I was very sorry.

That was in May this year at Harrogate Magistrates.

Cheers guys. I've no doubt I'll be on here a fair bit. Which design company do you work for Mrs. Fish?

Black BMW 320 Ci Coupe with M3 leather interior. I'd just got it before I got caught. Great timing.

police said I was doing between 106 to 118, when it eventually went to court said 106.

Said I need car, showed letters of character and also need from work, looked smart, polite, admited fault of 96 (mags said it would change the verdict), said unusual and regreted it etc.

Got 6 points and 200 and something fine I think 230.

I think I might be able to deal with that. It's the thought of a ban that kills me. Gonna have to do some serious grovelling. And I hate Grovelling. Cheers for that.

you should have your feet amputated

(only joking - you will probably get either a short ban, or half a dozen points and a weeks wages docked)

My Dad was caught on the M4 a few years ago @ 100. That earnt him a two week ban and a £500 fine.

It depends on your circumstances. The bigger the fine that they can get out of you the smaller the ban.

I had a friend who was caught at 106 and he was banned for a month and had a £150-£200.

Couldn't come up with a more original username eh?

Sorry to hear you've been caught. I would plead guilty and supply plenty of mitigation in court. You may only get a short ban, like 2 weeks or so. Speaking from experience.
