We got married just over two weeks ago.

We along with half our wedding guests got food poisoning.

We were on honeymoon when it hit us so assumed we had caught it out there. But after 5 days of no sleep and not being able to even make it to the beech we cut the honeymoon short by a week and booked flights home early.

It was when speaking to other wedding guests that we all realised that there were a large number of guests all with identical symptoms. Many people took 4 or more days off work.

Now back at work and feeling more worn out than before we went. Desperate to have a decent holiday/honeymoon to look forward to to make up for the one that was ruined.

Is there any comeback we will have on the venue for compensation?
Is it worth it or will it e a long battle with lawyers needed?

Have you checked if it's covered by your holiday insurance? It would be much easier for you to claim on that, if possible, and leave the insurance company to claim against the hotel.

Have you called Environmental Health?

The doc back here told one of the guests who had samples taken that as it has been confirmed as campylabacter that the environmental health automatically have to get involved and that they will be in contact with him.

Should we be cobtacting them in addition to this?

Can't hurt. Worst case, they already know and are getting involved.

Yes, and encourage all the affected guests to do so as well.

(An aside, but all food poisoning cases are notifiable to EnvHealth. Very few people bother to do it, but you are always meant to.)

Just sent you a Pm mate.

I went through something similar last year, when my 1 year old took a seizure just as we were about to board our plane home as a result of catching a bug ( cryptosporidium )from the hotel pool.

Only last week our case against the holiday company concluded in our favour.

Any questions feel free to ask
