Hi Ralph...I think the answer you are looking for is contained within the page that ian..Wedg1e put up, I believe that the diodes only operate the pods and have nothing to do with the power to the actual bulbs themself..Although i could be wrong!..Have you tested the bulbs to make sure they work?..Could be a bad connection at the fuse board end?...Have you checked/followed the wire back to the fuse board to see if they are loose or faulty..Could it be the headlight switch..I did have a spare but passed it on..I might have another but rimmerbros do them if not...Cheers...Ziga

Ralph, the diode or diodes are located on the main fuse board. Some earlier cars had 2 but later ones have one. have a look for it sometimes it is just connected into a spare socket with flying leads. If you take it out remember the orientation of the stripe. Failure of the diode can cause all sorts of interesting faults ranging from the famous wedge winky light pods to various light faults!

Check all the connections under the drivers side wheel well, also check the condition of the cable going into the multi blocks as the wire rots with the weather turns a black colour and cause all sorts of issues, on the passenger side engine bay down under the afm is a pair of resistors check the connections as wel as the main earth on the centre bolt.

Have fun

Chris

Evening Guys
Again thanks for you help, but i did find out what the problem was, when i removed the wiring loom for the Efi a connector fell off which i did attach back on, but it had 2 x fuse holders, which once powered up the lights work, so the 5 hours checking all the wiring was a bloody waste of time, still there working, so if anyone does a carb conversion on a late wedge please take note of this wiring, its located in the right hand corner beside the mess lol

Let there be light and all thanks to my on phone mechanic, Mr Zig lol, Cheer Markthumbup
