Chips Away - Any good?
Discussion
I have two chips on the drivers door, a scratch on the o/s passenger door and a scratch on the rear bumper that I really want to be shot of! The two chips are down to the metal (eeek) and want to carry out some kind of rust prevention. Are they any good and what sort of price could I expect to pay?
FYI the paint is solid gloss

As said it depends on who's doing the work. From my experiences i've used 2 of their guys. First one did the paint repair on a door and work was excellent with no faults or issues. However, the guy that replaced him a year later in the franchise managed to tear the recently replaced door/window seal on my 306 Cabriolet when refitting the mirror/baseplate he'd painted and tried to hide the fact he'd done it by using a black marker pen to colour over the now exposed area of material that's inside the seal. When i brought his f
k up to his attention he tried to claim it was already damaged. Didn't work well for him and he ended up paying out for another replacement seal + fitting.
My mum's experience was fine at first. She had her rear bumper painted after it was keyed. About 9 months later the repaired area had faded really badly clearly due to the lack of lacquer used when it was painted.

Not used, them but i can see on the neighbours car where they have been butchering it, colour match is good, but not rubbed down the panel and you can see the circle. spent hours there to and still managed to make a mess of it.
In the Epsom area so as people have said area dependent.

As said earlier in the thread, massively dependent upon the operative. There are two we have used and they are like chalk and cheese.
One did a repair so poorly that he didn't even bother asking to be paid, but the other guy is so good that we have used him time and time again and I am still to find anyone who can spot his repair work. Great for wheel too, and very good value for money IMO.
If you are Birmingham way message me and I will give you his details.
