Insurance getting cheaper?
Discussion
Get my insurance renewal today, 15% cheaper than last year, which I thought was a surprise. Tried on the comparison sites, which were starting at 33% cheaper for like for like. The existing company promptly matched that.
So, insurance 48% cheaper than last year, with the same cover. Just me, or is insurance getting cheaper?

Yep, same story here, despite me having a claim against me in the year for £3k.
(I parked my huge, modified Jeep outside a Chinese Take-away, to the right of the take-away's door, in a parking lay-by one evening.
Whilst I was inside, a biker thought it would be a great idea to park his black bike, at night, right up against the rear of the Jeep - with the Jeep's rear window a good foot taller than his bike.
Hence, I came out of the Chinese, walked to the Jeep from the front near-side, had no chance of seeing the bike behind unless I had walked round the back, got in, reversed, and...clump! One bike on the floor.
Yes, my fault, but a bit marginal if you ask me...if I had a brand-new, £12k superbike, the last place I would park it is behind a tall vehicle at night with the vehicle's rear window well above my bike
)
Aaanyway, depsite this claim, my insurance renewal has just dropped into my email inbox - down from £285 last year to £256 this year.
Wierd! I did not expect that!

If you had legal protection I'd have gotten them involved - I'd have suggested the bike wasn't parked in a proper space/visible from the driver's seat and thus the rider could fYes, my fault, but a bit marginal if you ask me...

k RIIIIIIIIIIIGHT off...It was a bit galling - but when you look at it in it's facts - the bike was parked, I was moving, and by moving I knocked over the bike. Case closed really
