Forge BOV knackered

Hey guys, just discovered my forge BOV was passing letting air in when there is a vacuum before coming on boost, it's impossible to hear any noise when accelerating above 0 on the boost gauge but gentle throttle its letting air in,

I've removed and stripped it down, turns out the small spring has broken and doesn't hold the valve closed,

Of course it's typical that I'm off to the continent tomorrow, any ideas for sourcing a spring tomorrow or ideas for bodging it to keep me going?

Having thoughts about putting a pile of washers in place of where the small spring was, I'm guessing this would jam the valve shut completely but not sure?

Best option for track? Not sure if I can get a spring on route to Newcastle tomorrow but I'll try

I hate dump valves but my Forge is welded onto the hardpipe so I'm stuck with it. I've disconnected the vac line and put a 2p underneath it before screwing it back on. Job done

Where did you put the 2p exactly? See there lies my other problem...

The garage who welded my water injector boss into the pipe seem to have fked the threads on it, I can only unscrew it a quarter turn before it jams solid... Stress levels are rising!

The Forge unscrews from the boss that's welded to the hard pipe - or at least it should! I put the 2p in there.
Forge were going to make me a screw in blank to replave the valve completely, but since I've spent some money with them they've gone very quiet about any favours.

Don't know if I can help but if you get forge to send a new spring I could bring it Sunday ?

The threads on my BOV bos are solid so that's not coming off, I found a spring in my shed (from a gardening tool) which was slightly larger and it seems to have done the trick, BOV is not quite till I lift off the throttle, although the dump noise is higher pitched with the stronger spring not opening as much, it'll do for the next week or two I guess

stretch it so it is a bit longer

refit

fixed !

What is it with Forge dump valves ! I had the same spring problem with my first car in 2005.

Lol the spring actually broke in two, Found a spring off the handle of a lawn feeder barrow, all good to go!

Also fitted new mesh up front and maybe copied but slightly changed what
Granty done by routing two of the ducts to the front brakes to aid the waffe culling at Spa!

Leaving tomorrow at 10am, only need to pack everything and get some euros now...
