DB9 - increased rear seat room

Tonight's pub quiz question .
Do you think if you were to replace the front seats in a DB9 with thin carbon fibre seats with room for feet to fit under them it could rival a Rapide for rear seat room ?
Come to think of it the IQ is supposed to be a miracle of packaging - cygnet/IQ seats ?

Different seats would certainly work, but not the Aston lightweight ones as the Oracle Mikey says.
Have thought that scalloping out the backs could increase room hugely, but there are a lot of motors and heaters under there. Pick a seat you like from another manufacturer with the charateristics you like and recover it in Aston's BofW leather and bingo... Should work as the electrics will be bought-in stuff so not too complicated to adapt!

Interesting to see that they are made with Nappa leather which - IIRC - is one of the top leathers used in Beamers and the most expensive option behind Merino.
Are they superior to BofW, or just a different type ??

But it is not just the knee /feet room that is the issue. i am a shortar5e at 5 foot 8, but even my head hits the roof when trying to sit in the back of the DB9. Luckily my usual position is behind the wheel.

But have you tried a Rapide ? Not much better . Could be a very cheap way to improve the utility of the car - albeit for girls/kids in the back.Peter
I often carry full grown adults in my GT.
The seats are shaped so it allows room for knee's up the sides of the seats. This is the key factor to the rear being usable.
I think the seats are early vanquish style, so it might be an option if they will fit on the runners or fixing points.
There is a little amount of room underneath, but a spacer or two should sort a little more out.
