Pyrenees in reverse

Had a superb hoon down the D918 making many, many cyclist friends ( ). The car was obviously completely at home in this mountain road environment and it was generally a great day. Had a couple of issues though:

1. After stopping for lunch, the reverse lights didn't go off. They were on all the rest of the time with the "R" displayed in the dash and the parking sensors beeping away. I could make it flash off by moving the gear stick in and out of reverse, but it would always come back to on. On the way home it went off on its own. I'm used to seeing it a Renault, but a bit embarrassing on an Aston.

2. A couple of times I had the impression the brakes were binding a little bit. On the descents, I could hear a little brake squeal. This could be normal, just the pads still slightly in contact with the disks. I didn't detect any overheating, but I did feel the car was a bit down on power occasionally, but TBH that could just have been the altitude. Car felt quicker when we at the bottom.

Any ideas for the reverse thing? I am making a list of stuff to get done under warranty next service.

Hi Bob,

The reverse lights will most likely operate off a pin-switch, that's either dirty or toast. Depending on it's location it should be an easy fix / swap.

You should be able to override the parking sensors - I have a disable button in my 2007 V8 on the centre console in front of those very well placed cup holders
