Thinking about doing a day with EasyTrack but have no experience of them as an operator.
If I go on a budget track day I know it will be nice and cheap but quite busy with the occasional track day hero in some old snotter making a nuisance of himself but if I go on an expensive day there will be much smaller numbers on track.
So where to Easytrack feature in the scale of things?

I use Easytrack usually 3 or 4 times a year, mostly for Oulton Park. Very good TDO in my opinion. Events are well run and I've rarely queued to go on track. The one or two problems that have cropped up (e.g. track closures to recover broken down cars) could have happened to any TDO. Never had a day cancelled by them.
We did a day with them at Oulton recently, we'd never used them before but we needed to get the car out to test the changes we'd made before we raced and they were the only operators with spaces, on a circuit we could get to, on a day we could both do (I share the race car).
The signon process was a little confusing, there were 2 queues and it was only by chance we were in the right one first time out, otherwise we could have queued once and then been sent to the back of the other queue.
Briefing was good and clear.
The guy doing the noise testing was rude and uncommunicative, maybe he was having a bad day but he didn't endear himself to many people.
Lots of cars on track, but waiting times weren't too bad. Some Britcar drivers with more money than talent got the circuit shut a couple of times, they then went to sessions for a short while to give everyone the chance to have a decent stint on track (a good idea IMO) - the Britcar drivers were spoken with and caused no more trouble when we went back to open pitlane.
Etiquette seemed mostly good.
The organiser seemed like a thoroughly nice bloke who wanted to run a good trackday when we spoke to him at the end of the day, always a good sign.
I'd use them again, but they wouldn't be my first choice.

Noise testers and marshals are usually circuit staff and nothing to do with the TDO. So you would have got him regardless of who was running the day...... you're not the only one that has got that impression of that particular noise tester at OP

I've posted about them before. Much the same impression and sometimes they have had too many race cars being run by novice drivers which has been very frustrating. However, when I factor in the prices and (for a Cheshire lad) the frequency at Oulton into the equation then they come out even in my book. I'll be doing more days with them this year and next. The signon process was a little confusing, there were 2 queues and it was only by chance we were in the right one first time out, otherwise we could have queued once and then been sent to the back of the other queue.

+1
I did a trackday with EasyTrack at Oulton recently and there was a lot of race cars there testing with quite a few warnings being given to stop timing which i think is a little unfair on us guys out there for a bit of fun!!!
You certainly had to watch your mirrors as they did not wait to pass!! Not good for novices.

In all fairness you can't blame the operator if there are people with faster cars there, that's the luck of the draw. The worst day I did was one that was cheaper than an Easytrack day but because of that it was full of people driving sheds which kept breaking down and spewing fluids over the track.

yes you can they should be on test days with other race cars not on an event that is advertised as a TRACKDAY!!!
So where is your line? If someone books with a caterham presumably that's ok, or is it? If they have a Ferrari is that a problem? Or would it only be a problem if its a 458 but not a 360? maybe an atom is across your line, or maybe it isn't. How about Radicals, are they race cars?On any track day some will be faster than others, in my experience Easytrack do attract the higher end but that's because they organise good days.
your missing my point, there is a time and a place
a trackday is supposed to be for amateur drivers and passing is always by mutual consent, the race car drivers just pass when they want to...
a test day is for race drivers whatever their standard
a full on SRv8 Radical is fine on a trackday if it obeys the rules and is being driven by a guy just out to enjoy his car not test it to race.

I'm a race driver who uses track days for tuition in a hired race car, but I stick to the rules because I know what its like being on the receiving end of numpties who don't. It might be a lot safer for us in a cage/bucket/harness but we still don't want to bend the car coz we still have to pay to fix it.
Regards timing, I use a VBox video/datalogger (without a display) - there's no actual need to look at timing until I'm home again.
